Here is another example of news that I never get to see. I would think that something as serious as being tried for war crimes would be story one in all news broadscasts, But then I would think that all news companies are not in bed with the government. Oh well.

Well, well, well,

what have we here?  An impeachable offense.  Go figure.

Of course, this is being filed under the German Code, which calls upon Germany to act as world humanitarian policeman on behalf of the world.  Rumsfeld, Sanchez, and company may be tried and convicted, but it will be done in a German court, which, though extremely ironic, will have no power to actually carry out sentencing unless their decisions are recognized by either the individuals being tried or the United States government, or both.   Realistically, it'll never happen, no matter what the court rules (if it actually goes to trial, which is not a given considering the kind of power Washington can bring to bear).

Personally, I am all for it.  As far as that goes, I am for the impeachment of Dubya also, not to mention Cheney.  Their total indiscriminate abuse of power has been a sickening display.  But do I believe anything will be done?  Not in Dubya's lifetime.

Excellent post, GWBush.
