I am IMPRESSED! Wow...you obviously are a gifted linguist, picking up a foreign tongue with such ease! We'll have you calling girls 'sheilas' in no time!! (I have never used that term in my entire life mind you!)
I had to laugh at your question to Alf as his daughter is 20!! Hee hee!!
Are "groovy Girls" what we call "Bratz Dolls" here...or do you have those as well....and I assume you do as they are made in the USA I think? Looks like I'd better prepare for another type of doll craze huh?
Look...a relatively short comment in reply to a comment!!

I prefer the Groovy Girls
over Barbie - esp since Rachel will still occasionally whack Emily over the head with a toy.... ouch.

Your girl Adrienne-
is she allowed to stay in the car? Here in the Gobe, we can't leave our animals in the car. Although people still do.. just curious..

ISN...with you here all the way. I go
to the mall about once a year and then it is a well planned strategic strike. In and out. This means I must go alone, no kids or women of any kind. While Adrienne gaurds the truck I make my move, through the parking lot and into the mall where they have the big mall-map...Once oriented, I attack..swiftly. The comission sales dudes don't know what hit them. By tyhe time they realize I was there, I have already gone. One slice of pizza from the mall pizza joint and I'm outta there for another year.

SUOMUNONA-
In an effort to encourage gi-normous comments, I am responding to your comment with a comment that it is due- large and well formatted, with bullet points. Good stuff, these.
- Re: "window shopping"- My brother's Korean wife calls it "eye shopping". And she calls armpits "under shoulders" hehehehe I enjoy foreigners.
- Crowds are stuffy because of b.o. and because they eat at the food court. Or, in Australia, the food courte. hehe
- I wander aimlessly on a regular basis; after I lose my car at the mall, I give up and take a walk. Liberating, really.
- I bribe my children in public to be good. I keep cookies and juice in the diaper bag and they know it. I am ashamed.
- Salesmen and women are evil. Except for Alf. But that's different.
- Kazoo. hehehehe. Kazoooooooo. hehe. Still not over it, but I'll move on.
"layby" must be "layaway". Take note, folks, I am becomming Australian as we speak.
"cuppa" must mean "cup of coffee". Stand aside. She's on a roll.
"queue" is a line. I know this from my waiting for a toilet in England. I also know toilets are nasty in England. But I digress.
I think I have addressed the main points. Thanks as always for an education and a well thought-out comment.

hey Scrooge...er I mean ISN
we should load up the minivan and go across the border!
It's too dang cold out though, so I think I'll just sit here with my sick kid too, and feel the warmth radiating off the computer.
I can't stand shopping in this town (or any other town for that matter). It's like taking your life into your hands out there! Albertsons was bad enough.

Well I am in a quandry.
- I really enjoy shopping....but only when I have money to spend, so can actually buy things. I am NOT an avid window shopper.
- I love going to our local shopping centre....but not at busy times of the year as I hate crowds and the stuffy atmosphere they create.
- I love buying presents, but only if I have an exact idea of what the recipient would like....I HATE wandering around aimlessly.
- I love to take the children with me, but only if they are dressed nicely, on their best behaviour and don't ask for one thing...in other words...never!
- I hate salespeople who hover or give false compliments of just generally hang aroundlike a bad smell....but I hate it when you NEED one and they have all disappeared...and you have something you just HAVE to buy!
- I love Christmas carols....but not those tinny Muzak ones which sound like they are being played by a bug on a kazoo in a coke can.
So...this year I was very organised....I put all my gifts on layby a couple of months ago when the shops were quiet, no carols were playing, there were no crowds, the children were at school and I could enjoy a cuppa in my favourite cafe as well. The only downside is I now have to enter the throng, line up in a stuffy, smelly, crowded queue for an hour listening to the tinny carols and holding my breath while people cough and sneeze all over me, so I can pick up my layby which I kept forgetting to go and make payments on and collect early, before Christmas Eve!!

you can get free shipping
or at least low cost shipping at the following places depending on what you buy. In some cases you need to spend $100.00 to get free shipping.
Amazon.com has free shipping for toys and some other items
Overstock.com has $1.00 shipping for everything but auctions
circuitcity.com has free shipping over a certain amount.

Online shopping!
Most places have deals on shipping this time of year, too! My mom and my MIL do all their online shopping for our kids and ship it directly to our house since neither of them likes to go shopping this time of year!

Try half.com. It's owned by eBay, but you can get a lot of great stuff there, and the shipping is just the cost of media mail.
