I was always forced to write thank you notes as a child and I used to hate it, especially when it involved giving thanks for yet another embroidered handkerchief...

ISN, I always write thank you note to my MIL for all the wonderful gifts she sends the girls. I think it is important for the girls to see me doing this, and now I get Rachel to draw a picture to enclose and I usually send a picture of the girls wearing the clothes or playing with the toys. Maybe I'm old fashioned too, but It's all a part of good family realations.
