I know the answer to most of them.
They're followers. They get into a social club and chant whatever is handed to them on the rally/song/activity paper. They make friends, have good times, they learn all the ropes/rules/ideals, and then when they decide to start their own Extremist Organization, they only succeed if by an act of mutiny.
