Also Wilds, when I choose my companions at the bar
I don't submit them to a checklist of how much they have been published. It is not quantifiable in that way. It is a state of mind, a way of thinking...intangibles

No I understood what you meant. I meant and should have said that such criteria is so very subjective and the world of writing is so fluid that it is difficult to set any meaningful criteria.

I didn't mean to be vague with "you guys". I read Untold One's post yesterday and I was referring to his definition of writers vs aspiring writers. I fall into the aspiring writer definition, thus, I wouldn't include myself in that category. I'd be left out in the cold here.....so, again, wrong venue.

The main thing about anything like that is the interaction with like-minded people no matter what point they have reached

Yes how can we bear it? Blogging also gives people in the media a chance to interact with real people and get an idea of what's really happening?

Blogging in the way we do here is an amateur activity but there are quite a few blogs which form full or part-time employment. Usually they are about particular topics

I don't know if you saw UntoldOne's post on the topic to anwer your question - but of course that's just one definition

I agree, wrong venue...
But only because there would be nothing to stop say, me, for example from joining in and saying I am some great writer!

BB, I think it would be great. As an unpublished thinker.
But I'm going to want to comment and ask questions and you're still going to have to rub shoulders with the unwashed. I think we would all learn from it!

Beach - blogging by its nature is an amateur endeavor - so I think wrong
venue also. But would love a writer's group of serious writers.
