Lampasas is a small Texas town, which has not yet been infected with liberal, big-city, sheep-herd mentality. To them, a hunting rifle is a thing of virtue, a tool of value, to be used to put meat on the family table. Let us not pollute their rural values with our urban corruption. Let them have their raffle.
Besides that, let us have an accurate view of moral responsibility. If the person who wins the gun uses the gun to commit a crime, he or she is SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for the crime. Not the school, not the gun manufacturer, not the government, not you or I.
