Interesting Questions!

I'm an optimist, despite the nature of some of my posts. Big corporations and big governments are run by people, mainly men, who have children and grandchildren, and are human, just like you and I, and at some point, I hope, are going to 'get' the link between their greed and non-awareness, and the state of the planet that their nearest and dearest are looking to inherit.

Will they get it fast enough? Well, that's the key, and the Great Unknowable. I suspect not. I suspect the point has already past, and we are in for a severe kicking, from the Earth or from our globalised capitalist system or both, as a species, in the very near future, ie 2-5 years.

Someone said to me at the weekend that all the discussion in the world means nothing unless you're prepared to sacrifice elements of your consumerist lifestyle (at least) or, (at most) put your life on the line to advance the cause of sense over non-sense, ease over dis-ease. I've certainly gone some way down the former route. And whilst I'm not putting myself in any danger (unless I get into real conspiracy thinking!) I do agitate (positively!)with my writing at every opportunity, and in every forum I can.

Thanks for your interest.

Interesting Posts

I've enjoyed reading your posts.  Your varied material and subjects point out what any honest free thinker should be able to guess without reading through 2000 pages from some council that most citizens of industrial nations would never even consider reading.

Is there an answer though?  Honestly, logically, will the governments of the "dirty 30" nations ever change policy before the wheels fall off?  Will profits be placed second or third behind the enviroment and quality of life?

I'd like to think in my lifetime, but I don't think so.

It's sad to think we've evolved, yet we really haven't learned a thing.

I applaud all attempts to keep these points in the public eye.  It's going to take a groundswell of citizen support to ever get the train we are on to slow down.

There has to be a better way than skimishing with police at G-8 meetings?  Yes?  I dunno.

Chameleon.
