Interesting post. I grew up in a family of 7 older siblings, and there was no privacy.

You make me think, that's the way it was.

Then the militray, then marriages, all no privacy situations.

Now I'm alone and have privacy, and I'd better learn to be more grateful for it.

Thanks for your words on Monastic life, well put, that would be my attitude as well. Superiors that were actually as...., never mind I  had some of them in the military.

I have thought about trying that kind of life. I'd love to read a lot more of what you have to say of the monastic life my friend. Thanx

Good post! I love your description of the inner world as a cocoon.  My rebuttal to those who would say, "What have you got to hide?" to anyone who refuses to share every intimate detail is "Not everyone who doesn't want their life under a microscope is hiding something suspicious, it's just that so little is sacred these days,and so many people want to make snap judgments, why would I want to expose that?"
