I didn't know that either, CA, but it's actually good news.
While of course, none of us can eat these types of foods all the time, day in and day out, without getting as big as a house, we don't have to feel as ultimately guilty as we do when we eat them.

amazman - in the dim dark recesses of my mind, I have a memory of someone telling me the ratio of how long it takes you to lose weight, depending on how long you've been carrying it. It wasn't a nice memory....

There's more truth to this than many of us assume, CA.
I watched a TV show not too long ago, that stated that fatty foods, oil, butter, etc., actually have a higher satiation factor, and that some consumption of these will actually cut back our appetites for quite a while, so what you said here, from personal experience, actually makes quite a lot of sense. Gives me a reason to eat French fries occasionally! LOL

moderation and patience
Yesterday, while helping a friend and his wife unpack he said to me,
"It's amazing how much stuff we accumulate over time."
Even though I've heard this before, now I when I think about it and while reading your posts, I see why it is so difficult to maintain a level of consistancy while on a diet. It took time to accumulate the weight you want to lose, and you've heard this before, it will take time to throw it away. Take your time...reward yourself as you did this weekend...and take care...
