What lost the election for the left was the perceived elitism coming from those who have a liberal bent. They come across as smug and superior as they lecture the rest of us poor simpletons on issues of policy. We deal with it even more up here in Canada and your average ordinary Canadian is getting pretty sick of it! Congrats to Americans for overcoming the smug superiority of what turned out to be a minority of voters!

I can't recall who wrote the red verses blue blog and my response is to be humorous and talk about purple and they went wild on me. You know it's great that we can all discuss our opnions. Some people think they are going to add more converts by beating up on anyone who differs from their opinion. That never works

I can sympathize with you
I recently wrote a few posts explaining my reasons for voting Bush ( I at one time was a card carrying Democrat, mind you). Huge mistake! They came crawling out of the woodwork, letting me have it. Some of them wrote me some scathing emails. There are a couple of others who used to be good friends with me, and now won't even read or comment on my posts. And if I write a comment on theirs, they ignore it!

I think you are mostly correct. There are many wonderful liberals who are honest to goodness great people. I agree with some of their positions, but in general we are worlds apart in the way we look at things.

Thanks all for the words of wisdom.
I don't mind discussion when people point out what you said wrong or things like that. When someone writes that you are not too bright and such that is not discussion. I am fine. On top of it all I had to sweat out the LSU football game. It is much better this morning though. I thank all of you.

"Political Discussion" is an oxymoron
More often than not, neither side wants to listen to what the other side has to say. It's just a bipartisan truth.
Don't let anyone get you worked up like that; they have their opinions and you have yours (whether of politics or of you as a person).

As the guy on the cover of Mad magazine says, " Hey why me, worry?" I know this election thing had more then it share of people worked up, but hey I'm a libby, I think no less or more of a person because of thier party choice. Don't let one persons nastiness upset ya. Keep a stiff upper lip.
