I Have to Disagree...

...not because I have any evidence to the contrary, mind you.  I just believe that compromising democracy is self defeating in the extreme.  No matter how small the increments are to the edge of the cliff, we are still choosing a path towards an abyss that everyone knows will lead to our extinction.  Again.

I get tired of dealing with morons, too.  I'm sure the superrich in charge of all of this madness get tired of the underachievers of the world.  The iron gates around their properties speak volumes as to their regard for those who hang out under the fat part of any bell-shaped curve.  Sanctuary!  Sanctuary!  Me, too.  Mea culpa.

Fact is, the challenge of living together IS the only challenge we have to face.  Once that challenge is met we can all take a deep breath for the additional challenges that await us outside of our own solar system.

Until then, we are in a very cold, dark place in the middle of nowhere for good reason.

As long as there has been elections,

there has been corruption thereof and therein and thereabout.  It seems inherent to the system itself.  One day they will cross-check your signature with one on file, retina scan, fingerprint and run a DNA comparison to make sure you are the you that voted, then count it.  And then some wizkid will figure out a to circumvent this system and apply votes wherever his particular group wants them.

And it's all about the power.

Political corruption is a given, dude.  Unfortunately.
