Small correction:
<pedantic mode>A tautology is a staement that is always true (in logic). It does not require different words for the same item or article or...</pedantic mode>
But a great way to practice tight, taut, trim writing is using haiku, even if they are a bit cryptic (crossword) like.

One of my managers told me in the past that I had a tendency to ramble.
I think that turning to haiku has helped me to cut down the chatter over all. I am still a work in progress though, as is everyone.

But I like to meander. I like to start off with one subject and go off on another like I do when I write my column Annamaniacs (for those of you out there this is not just a blog but an actual column that I get paid weekly for although it isn't very much, not even enough to buy lunch, believe me, column writing doesn't pay that well, unless your on a TV show about sex and then it seems to pay enough for a NY apartment and designer shoes, and humor really doesn't pay well because I guess so many people do it although Erma Bombeck made a lot of money doing it, but then she also got to go on TV and if she were around today she'd be on Oprah, which reminds me about the Oprah show about people who have really messy houses which is what my house is turning into now that I'm writing a 50,000 word novel in one month and my kids think dinner is toast and cheese...where was I?

Concise.
Taut, splendid, sublime, delicate, exquisite, a coup de grace, wonderful, dandy, fine, peachy, great, good, perfect, tight, crisp, clear, trim, short, pretty, supple, breathtaking, informative, and not to mention a tad transcendent.
I may have missed the point.

Good advice. So it's
carb free conjugations for me. Give me a while to work it off, I'm a creature of habit.
