Beachbelle, please check the guidelines.
I may be mistaken, but I believe that the flat rate applies to non-fiction articles only. There is probably a sliding scale for the fiction.

If I were writing here I think I would stick to doing 500 words for $150 rather than 10,000 for $150. Or maybe write 20 x 500 words??
