- Go to Contortions Will Bend You Out Of Shape
I always thought writing should be a reflection, an extension of ourselves. I couldn't imagine doing it just for the sake of doing it.

There is only one answer to writing frustration and you know what that is. I agree that it is a good thing to know I can write about whatever I am asked to write about. and to be able to make some living from it but the amount of effort it takes to get to that point is immense.

Wiley Coyote. Well done.
I hope you enjoy it. You will probably discover how little folk like me actually do know.

Instead you can write about perfectly OK writers who say they can't write and those who write about them writing about them. I feel another of those posts coming on

Darn, I was planning on writing about bloggers who have nothing to write
about and now I will have to write about David writing about bloggers who have nothing to write about. Or maybe I'll write about blogger writing about David writing about bloggers writing about bloggers who have nothing to write about.

Maybe you mean a good writer is
never a contortionist.

I wonder whether they will ever cater for the mac users?!!
Beachie, I never asked, what mac are you using? I have a 17" flatscreen imac which I love! Bought it last year and as usual, newer models come out and I already have my eye on the next one!

Nice post, though I must concede that it will become hard at some point to balance between self and the public (even if it's just a small audience).

Made me happy to think I'm writing eight hours a day without seeing a paycheque! Nice post as usual beach! :)

I've discovered that I write, well, just to write. It's a handy way of tracking my moods, finding out how I dealt with a problem earlier, and most of all, meeting new folks. Which is the best part.

She made me do it when I started. She said, "But did they teach you about
paragraphs?" My post had lost its formatting from Word to Blogit - LOL

ODY - when I was in advertising, white space was encouraged, as the eye
tires from too much print or art. Same in writing.

What do you think about "white space"?
My business writing courses always emphasized the importance of separating paragraphs with white space, and not leaving them jumbled together.

Ahh, but at least while you were slogging away writing things that seemed unimportant, you were helping to put food on the table and a roof over your head, something many of us writers wish to be able to do. Sure it didn't seem like writing, but it was. There was something learned along the way even if you can't put your finger on what it was. Not everything we write will be works of art, or important, or touch someone, but everything we write does mean that we are using our talents. And if you are slogging, then most likely you are stretching. Far harder to write about something you know little about or have no interest in, than something that drives your passion. Sigh, can you tell I'm a frustrated writer?

BB, different people have given
many 'deep' reasons for why it is they write. I don't have any profound reason. I started out doing it recently for money (ok, so I'm a crass prostitute!
) but I think I do it mostly because it is something I enjoy.
