attax, Dr. Rice is an icon to many in America. She has come further than
just about anybody, except Abraham Lincoln, in her personal demands on herself to achieve excellence in her work and in her life. I admire the heck out of her achievements and hold her up with all my spirit.
However, she is a Bush 'yes' woman and without her he would stumble much more often. I do not feel that she has the ability to be 'diplomatic' and to build bridges between nations, peoples and cultures. She sees things only her way, right or wrong, black or white, left or right, thug or ally, obedient citizen or criminal. Her rigid thinking will be her downfall, it will get things done for America, but it will not build a more secure future, it will just 'get things done' our way and outsiders be damned.
That's probably what you admire most in her.
