I put off reading this post because it was about your brother and I wanted to be in the right frame of mind, not knowing if I would need to cry or anything. I am glad I finally read it. First of all you must realize that Barb is simply jealous, it's quite obvious to me all the way up here. You are handling it well by just being kind. Your brother and I sound an awful lot alike. You are a great writer, take Barb's jealousy as a compliment.

That's probably how I would approach the problem with the parking spot and the uber critic. I've found that nothing takes the wind out of someone's sails than not becoming pissed when they're intentionally trying to piss you off.
