So how long have you been effected in this way? Are you on hormonal replacement therapy or anything? You are right, I can't imagine what it must be like....like your own body it turning against you or something. I hope it is a temporary situation for you.

It sounds awful.
I had a co-worker whose husband bought her a little handheld, battery-operated fan to use when the flashes came. If you haven't already, you might want to research natural supplements. Oil of Evening Primrose was very helpful to me for PMS, and I've never had any menopause symptoms. Read up a lot, though, and be sure stuff won't conflict with anything else you're taking.
I'm a little worried for you with the HRT. My mother had breast cancer 15 years ago, and she's not supposed to have anything hormonal at all, not even skin cream. I imagine your dosage is adjusted to accommodate this, so I'm sure you'll be fine.
One other thought: would alcohol-based astringents help? Something that lifts the heat away from your skin? Good luck, dear.

AngelZ -- my heart goes out to you...what women must endure...are you
going "natural" with the menopause thing or are you taking the alopathic route? If alopathic there should be some meds out there to help with the hot flashes...or check out Susan Weed's Book,
Menapausal Years: The Wise Woman's Way for a natural approach. She offers information on herbs and other such things to help. Either way there should be something to help...good luck!

I don't know the feeling, but I do
know about the Asian stores on Old Highway 90! I have worked in that area surveying many days. We used to stay at the old Congress Inn on Highway 90. I know it changed names many times, but is it still there? The Vietnamese used to grow their crops and probably still do on little plots of ground outside of the hurricane protection levees in the area. Give me an update on your trip.

Um, no, I've never had my uterus or ovaries removed (which is good, because if they were removed, it probably means my parents weren't telling me something), but I sweat a lot. So I can sort of sympathize. Sort of... okay, I just wanted some attention, sorry. :::dances:::
