I can get some books from my building which has kind of
an in house library and other books from goodwill industries which sell books for $.79 or $1.25   Also, some people get books from book fairs that charge less than $3 a book and you can exchange books at that rate.

Most local libraries give away some free books occasionally. Ours does it
most of the time because so many people get rid of old books by giving them to the library....And booksales occur every so often there.  Some books are sold for 25 cents each.  Even bookstores occasionally have this type of sale....

Have fun reading!
I'd love to hear your opinion of the books you finish.  Take care

I'm only on chapter 4, page 35.

I've had my book for a few months but I read slower than the average person. I was told you write better when you do it smaller increments of time. For me, a catchy title always motivates me to at least start a blog. I have to work a part 2 to a blog I started and I'm still not ready for posting. Take the time needed. Writing is sometimes liken to exercising, you do get sore. Allow those muscle to heal but then get right back there.

Excellent post.

I find that while I have ideas for blogs
I can't seem to concentrate properly on a book....which is crazy as I am an avid reader and usually devour a book easily in one day. Since I discovered this site, I have had the same book for nearly a month and am not even a third of the way through!!

I'm currently reading Patricia Cornwell's 'Trace'
For me. writing has become therapeutic. I guess I will be blogging here for a while. Return soon. I like your style.
