I'm a former editor and I think you're nuts.

Boy hotty, if you upset me, I'll give you big trouble. You'll wish you
never set eyes on my blog if you mess with me.       Good post.

Ca88, so funny, I nearly cry. This gives me a lot of grief.

BB, when the urge to make it right gets me,
I send an email. Sometimes, I just read on.

Wiley, I can't change. I know you understand what I am on about.

BB, Thanks for this insight into your mind. Interesting.

Mary X, Yes it is maddening but honestly I am more concerned with
content and structure and the flow. The little things should be fixed. Period.

Beachbelle,
It is hard to not get annoyed by inconsistencies.  My boyfriend goes berserk reading the typos,  misspellings, and seeming ignorance of subtitle writers because he always watches tv with the English subtitles on.  Last night, I finally told him to let it go. However, you do have input on Blogit, he has none into subtitles, so my comment was more about him misdirecting his curmudgeonliness to me.

HG. That is definately (sic) so. Actually spelling is the least of.........
what I noticed. Sometimes I want to take in the gardening tools and weed out the excess of words

Hey, I could think of far worse urges to fight!  I am not an editor or former editor (nor am I qualified to be one.  Heck, I've never even been to college) but spelling errors drive me insane.  Of course I have to deal with the unfortunate affliction of being a very poor typist.  Not a good thing when you're a good speller....It makes me crazy to see the word definitely spelled 'definately' so often. I don't know why. I think the urge to edit in general is far more normal.

LOL

I did that just so you felt like you had something to edit.

Restraint is hard when you're an editor - could spend half my life

pointing out errors in books, blogs, advertising copy etc. Wait a minute--that is how I spend half my life!

There is no reason for alarm or consternation here on Blogitmo. Enjoy your stay.

Yeah. Means we can't read
books that haven't been edited or have been edited poorly without throwing them across the room in frustration. Fortunately I realize I am by no means a great grammarian so I am learning to just let things go a little...er it's hard though.

Good blog.
