Impatiens are one of my favorites.
They are a bit hard to grow in Texas, but it can be done. It is also worth the time and effort to do so. I can see you think of your garden like I do mine. It is more than plants in the ground. You want to nurture each and every one of them. A great post!

Scriber don't forget to junk in some piles of leaves that someone else raked and enjoy that musty mushroom smell!

Loanlady--I think so, it has been a nice clear sunshiney day in Detroit for
a change.  Maybe rake some leaves tomorrow.
