Wow, Mizmax--- that is great!

(About the novel, not about the exiting partner).    I wish you the best.   Keep us posted, please.

It couldn't come at a better time
as my novel is nearing completion but my partner of nine years is headed out the door....

Taps--- Wow! Thanks!!!
But you know, it's never anyone you know in this type of thing, now is it?     I appreciate your thoughts for me.

I think tremacc should be given one of those so she can write
more and better Haiku.   HAHA

Oceandancer, yes I like the incognito aspect of it and also the fact that
they look for people with the potential to be great creators and aid them in their quest.  I think that if I had the dough I would want to do something like that with my millions too.    Great minds think alike.

Get outa town!
I love that idea. I've often thought if I won millions I'd do something like that. Pick out some struggling poor ass deserving person and help them out. All incognito like. Perfect. Now I just gotta win the millions so I can do that. :-)

Frankenkitty, never say never.
My thought is that it could happen for so many here on Blogit.   Including you.    They look for creative potential, passion and social awareness, I believe.    Honestly, I think that at my current state of evolving, they would pass me by personally-- but thanks for the endorsement though, ya never know, ehh?   A girl can only hope...

I have come to the conclusion,
that I will never win anything. But I hope the person who receives it really deserves it. Maybe you? I hope so.:)

Rachel Anna, I hope they do.
Wouldn't it be great if a Blogit Alum became a MacArthur fellow?      I can see it happening.   There is a plethora of talent here.

That's awesome!!

Pick me!  Pick me!  Pick me!  :)

Cass, you lived in the states? I did not know that. Yes, that would

be a great reason to come back.

LOL, IR. Hollee always calls you her future-son-in-law, I was teasing.

If  you are referring to the MacArthur Fellowship, I was implying that you would be the perfect candidate.  You show such promise at such a young age.   Of course Hollee would be great to as would many other personalities on Blogit.

I knew there would be yet another reason for me to move back to the States!

My future son-in-law?
Do you know something I don't, tremacc?

posted by InherentRights on November 5, 2004 at 10:15 PM | link to this | reply

You know IR, it's all very hush-hush-- I don't think that the sponsors or
nomination committee would come up during the phone call for this non-profit.

posted by Tremac on November 5, 2004 at 9:47 PM | link to this | reply

Truth be told though, I'm kind of thinking they're most likely

leaning toward your future son-in-law, IR...

I wonder if they are sponsored by a particular cell phone company?
Choose Viacom - in case you're ever chosen for $500,000, you can count on us to get their call through to you...

HOLLEE-- they'll catch up to ya. Let's just hope that you aren't 80
when they finally do.

posted by Tremac on November 5, 2004 at 9:36 PM | link to this | reply

Spitfire, lol. I know-- but I'm sure an 80 year old would
appreciate it a lot sooner anyways, ha!

posted by Tremac on November 5, 2004 at 9:33 PM | link to this | reply

Shoulf have taken that damned phone call today while I was at Long John
Silvers. sheesh.

posted by Hollee on November 5, 2004 at 9:19 PM | link to this | reply

Seriously, tremacc, I agree.
I was actually just kidding. I do think it would be cool even at 80 or 90 to receive such acknowledgment.

posted by SpitFire70 on November 5, 2004 at 9:18 PM | link to this | reply

SPITFIRE, LOL.
I think the message that maybe they're hoping to put out there is to never set limits for yourself or give up on what moves you.   Just a guess on my part, but that's a valid question.

posted by Tremac on November 5, 2004 at 9:10 PM | link to this | reply

That's pretty cool. But one thing I question. Why an 80 year old?
I mean, how much time do they actually have left? Well, I guess it's still a great honor to achieve and may give them more reason to keep on truckin.

Original Influence, just a little, ehh?

You're right, what a difference it could make.

what a difference a little money makes!

Word, can you believe it? It certainly would.

posted by Tremac on November 5, 2004 at 4:40 PM | link to this | reply

$500,000 would indeed make a great difference....

to someone's life.  That concept is awesome.
