Custom Clothing

What a great idea! In labor abundant developing countries custom clothing  tends to be actually cheaper than department store clothing. Labor is cheap and tailoring is a skill that does not need a formal educational background. Individual tailors do not have to rent large spaces nor do they have sales and marketing expenses as they rely on word of mouth for customers.

Dipping into this large pool of cheap available talent in Mexico to fulfil the need for reasonably priced custom clothing in the US is a very wise business decision. Watch for other companies to follow the Lands End example. If the trend continues it will reduce the prices for custom clothing in the US and raise the standard of living for people employed in producing them. Hurrah for free trade!
