- Go to It's Called the New Testament Because it is a New Way of Looking at God
I don't want to comment on the post
but rather the title. It's called The New Testament because it refers to the new and final covenant.

Part of the new is really the old
I had a pastor once who put forth the following idea; that Yeshua's birth wasn't the beginning of the New Covenant, His resurrection was! His final words on the cross "It is finished" refers to the Old Covenant. God had promised a redeemer and the sacrifice fulfilled (finished) that promise. So most of the gospels should have been added to the old testament. Acts would seem a more logical beginning of the New Covenant.

I think it was getting back to before (Jewish) religion was controlled by the preistly class -- religionists who could see beyond the literal.
And that's where we need to be -- the source.
