Two thought/questions. OK, three.

How closely symbiotic are culture and religion?

As I mentioned before elsewhere, Westerners have been surprised over the years when seemingly benign and cultured aristocracy and politicians (often one in the same, no?) in so-called ""Third World Countries" will call for subjugation or punishment for an ethnic or political or religious faction as casually as they would call for another glass of champagne or juice.

Maybe if world leaders all had the retirement benefits and prospects of the U.S., Canadian and Western European leaders they wouldn't have to fortify themselves for their declining years

Oh did you know that when the former Syrian ruler Hafiz died, ALOT of Jeep Cherokee cars were stolen for Lebanon for the funeral procession.....  *sigh*

Whoever takes over after Arafat will do a much better job.... way too many inside dealings with the enemy going on.... this informed blogger has said enough
