Thanks for the link.  It is as qwertyui said, it might be fun for about 20 seconds, then poof, huge problem.

Check out this link to get the full scoop on this background process for Windows XP. As I understand it the progam is part of the automatic update system and should not be deleted.

Yikes!

It's the part that

does the automatic updates on your computer, and is a piece of the operating system.

Deleting it might be fun to watch for about 20 seconds.
