They say Hitler was a proponent of the big lie. Tell a big enough lie and most people will believe it, no matter how incredible it may sound. With Dubya, it's just been accumulative.

Bush in his life has had an uncanny knack for defusing
anything that anybody ever said about his opponents by doing worse things himself. When he accuses Clinton of having an affair, there is a dead black woman who accused him of rape in his closet. When he accuses Kerry of flip-flopping, that is a dead issue because every politican flip-flops and nobody does it more than dubya. Kerry has not flip-flopped us into a war the way dubya did. He has misled the American people down every path he has trod, but the Republicans call the Democrats liars.
