Mary

Thank you! I much appreciate the critique. Let me answer your questions.

1. Isn’t it a more like scenario that the UN would sanction international action against the US rather than unilateral German move?

The UN is only as strong as its strongest members. With the United States’ military all but destroyed, the UN really has little military muscle to order countries around. Also, the major members aside from the US, such as the larger European nations, agreed with Germany’s actions. We must remember that the United Nations is really the League of Nations version 2.0; the League of Nations failed, and so too could the United Nations.

2. Also, where did the tanks come from, is the US army so incapacitated in Iraq that they can't be pulled from Iraq to intercept a shipping convoy of tanks?

I think incapacitated is the wrong term. With three nuclear detonations, much of the US’s forces were incinerated, with those surviving having an almost 100 percent chance of radiation poisoning. The United State’s military was not severely damaged, it was all but destroyed. See the next answer for explanation of the latter part of the question.

3. What about satellite weapons and submarines? How did the Germans seize communications and utilities?

The answer to this has not yet been explained in the story, but I don’t think it would hurt anything if I gave a hint. The problem with having everything on computers these days is that, well, everything is on computers. In order for the submarines and what not too be able to get any communication from the government, the computers must be working. Stop the computers, stop the United States

4. Isn't a nuclear strike more likely than a ground invasion?

One thing that is important to consider is the fact that perhaps the German’s aren’t invading to eradicate the populous. When a nation’s government is out of control, it seems to common practice to send the military in to remove the reckless leaders, without the intent to harm the citizens. More over, the German’s main reason for declaring war was the fact that they felt the US was responsible for the detonation of three nuclear weapons, and it would be somewhat hypocritical of them to turn around and fire one themselves.

UH,

I just read your 3 part installment with interest and I have some questions: Isn't it a more likely scenario that the UN would sanction international action against the US rather than unilateral German move. Also, where did the tanks come from, is the US army so incapacitated in Iraq that they can't be pulled from Iraq to intercept a shipping convoy of tanks? what about sattelite weapons and submarines? How did the Germans seize communications and utilities?

Isn't a nuclear strike more likely than a ground invasion?
