Actually, I've always wanted
to change a few things about my physical appearence. Dental work to me is not vanity because teeth are necessary.

I often suspect the plastic surgery rumors. All I've had is dental work.

Maybe because there are
so many more beauties, with plastic surgery and all, people don't think it's a big deal? Or don't take what they see for face value because it must not be real? I don't know. I think a lack of trust has a lot to do with the decline in the appreciation of physical beauty. Interesting post

I wouldn't know. I gained a few overseas yummy food pounds from homesickness, and lost them again, and I gained a bit from my pregnancies many years later, but whenever I lose a even little bit of weight, my husband acts worried, as if I need to stay exactly as I am because he thinks I'm too hot as it is.

Could it have something to do with the fact
that sooo many Americans, men and women are overweight these days and therefore no longer identify with the Miss America and barbie types? That may partially explain the wane in popularity.

"women want their fair slice of everything"?
In this so-ciety, when our family scoots us out the door to get a college degree, pulling the rug to make sure we trip on the way, and then our teachers and professors grade us all the way into professional perfection or failure, women are pressured into doing everything EXCEPT what they want. The natural processes and desires of womankind do not change simply because the man has decided to trash her in pursuit of F.U.N.
What will they invent next? A robotic replacement for the woman? That way, they don't have to worry about disappointing her when she expects the impossible -- equality of respect. The only respect she will get is if she manages somehow to conquer the deception of her world and come out looking like a virgin.
