my daughter thought every egg we ever bought into the house was a hard boiled easter egg and would try to crack each one open to be sure. Then when we had chickens and they laid their eggs, many times they would be of varying colors and that would start off a whole new adventure in egg cracking. I rarely got to scramble them for breakfast, she usually beat me to it, except I couldn't get her to use a bowl!

Good post.
I enjoyed it. When I was in Germany those people have a holiday every week, sometimes two, but when you ask them what the holiday is about they don't have a clue. That seemed odd to me.
