West -- Before You Go Too Far On Your "Evolution Of Man" Expedition
You might want to research the lineage of humanity. Archeologic discoveries from just last year indicate that modern man might have descended from a single thread of relatives. In other words, modern man might not have evolved from apes at all. Personally, I avoid absolutes such as "we evolved from apes" whenever I discuss evolution. Clearly, we see a form of evolution at work every year when viruses jump from species to species or develop resistance to evermore powerful drugs; but I reserve my judgement when I think of amphibians evolving from fish and reptiles evolving into mammals. I'm not sure I've ever seen any empirical evidence to support such dramatic evolution; but I also have not read every word printed on the subject.
