Found it...They do seem to be asking for a lot to sell your copyright for $10-$15.

Good for you!

They make it plain about the copyright in their home page - you give it up completely. I had two reasons for not signing up: (1) they only want writers from the USA and (2) they only are willing to accept a maximum of 20 pieces from a writer in a month. It was mostly (2) that I didn't like.

As for the topics, they also state that they on-sell your work to web pages that want content. So, it's highly unlikely that there would be much in politics, current events, history or arts&entertainment - most of the web pages that require that kind of content have their own writers.

But one thing I would like to know: how much do THEY charge the people who buy the pieces? Maybe it would be more economical to search for pages that want content and deal with them directly

I wrote a number of articles for them back in 99 - they only paid $5 then!!
