I don't know if you were referring to me with regard to your statement about truth. But if you were, I make no claims of knowing "truth". All I have said is I have a set of beliefs that are based in love (since God is love - 1John 4:8). These are MY beliefs. I don't know if it's the truth or not. But I'll find out when I leave this world.

Unicorn, thank you for praying for me.

Ari,
First, I am PAINFULLY aware of my shortcomings, believe me.
Second, you may find this difficult to believe, but I have a prayer list right next to my keyboard here and there are no less than 15 bloggers on it-one of which is you, actually you are #3 on that list. (what else is new, you're at the top of another list!). My prayers for my fellow bloggers are for various needs that they have expressed and ones un expressed. They are NOT prayers that they would all just wake up! Or that they would fall to the bottom of the blog list, but rather prayers for healing, strength, recovery, dealing with the death of a loved one and so on. Even those who are not 'religious' in anyway are on my list.

I JUMP ON THAT ONE, I AM A CHRISTIAN, AND I CUSS, SOMETIMES
I DRINK, AND SOMETIMES I EVEN WATCH A DIRTY MOVIE.  BUT WHAT I ALSO AM, IS HUMAN.  AND I AM NOT PERFECT, DON'T PRETEND TO BE, BUT I THINK WHAT PROVES TO ME AND MY GOD THAT I AM GOOD, IS THE FACT THAT I HONESTLY KNOW WITH ALL MY IMPERFECTIONS, THAT I TRY, AND  I WANT IN MY HEART THE BEST FOR PEOPLE, AND I FEEL GUILT.  AND IT DOES DRIVE ME TO TRY TO BE BETTER, AND WORK ON THE THINGS I KNOW I DO WRONG.  AND I THINK AT THE END OF THE DAY, ALL THAT MATTERS IS I KNOW I AM FORGIVEN, AND TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY..

Unicorn, instead of accusing me and pointing out my sin, have you ever

thought about praying for me?  And like Jesus said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Ari & Sann
thanks for your enlightenment. However, with all due respect, I hardly think that one who calls herself Christian yet carries on the way you do with profanities, immoralities and the like is one to judge me. As Christians we are to be set apart, this is made clear in 1 Corinthians 5. I answer to God for my words and actions every day, in my position I am much more accountable than most. But, I will not idle sit by and watch the word of God be distorted and then have it be pushed as truth. I apologize if it offends you that I possess a passion for the Lord which goes beyond whether someone accepts 'me'.

There is nothing "new age" about this. This comes from studying St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, Meister Eckhart, Origen, St. Clement of Alexandria and many others from the time of Christ on through today who see a different meaning in what Jesus/Yeshua says.

Unicorn, with all due respect, if I knew nothing of God and religion and
read this discussion between you and sannhet, I would think that you have no idea about the love of God and that he does.  I try to approach these things very objectively and when I see you taking the approach that you do I can't help but think you'll never convince them.  In other words, watch your attitude...let God be God and show some humility.  Believe it or not, I actually believe more like you in regards to the Bible, but when it comes to the "Christian's" attitudes here, I do NOT agree with most of the way things are handled.  To me, it's more important to show love and compassion, than it is to be right for the sake of winning an argument.

OMGosh, I have to go get the puke bucket.
Yes, we definetly disagree. I'm not into the New Age-i-ness of what you are trying to pawn off. I don't know if we'll meet in Heaven, but I do know that Gods word says there is only ONE path to Him.

Again, we'll have to agree to disagree. I did not get mixed up. I read Jesus/Yeshua's words to mean that anyone can "seek" and if they do, they will find. For me this means any person can go down any path and find "God". I also see the rest pf the Bible differently than you. But it doesn't matter. If we both always act in loving ways we are both moving down the right path. And we will both make it to the kingdom of heaven when we both are "love".

I think you may have your scripture mixed up.
You used Matt. 7:7-8 to refer to many paths to God, however the versus you indicated speak nothing of that. "Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it shall be opened." Those were Jesus' words, which I see nothing about 'many paths'.
However, there are many verses that speak to the Biblical fact that states that the only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ, and the only way to Jesus is to be born again and receive Him.

Thanks. Yeah, it is hard sometimes, but we're all at different points on the journey, so some of us have had the opportunity to be exposed to more of the path than others.

I did read your post earlier today. And I think this is another area where we are going to have to agree to disagree. I believe anyone who follows the teachings of Jesus/Yeshua is a Christian. And I believe there are many paths that lead to "God" (Matt. 7: 7-8). Some paths are easier, some are harder. All will get one there eventually, but not unless one "becomes" love. As St. John said, "God is love". If you want to be with "God", you must become love.
