Excellent Post....
The worst memories are the ones that surface when you least expect them.

nice post nice composition analogy is one of my favorite forms of
communicating. It is very helpful for me when trying to understand complex ideas.
I am in the long drawn out seemingly endless process of getting beyond dreadful memories from growing up. You know, the worst kinds of things. I am prone to being quite irrational at times and I do believe that it is because of these memories. I have many unknown triggers as well I am sure. Thanks for your nice post and helping me to remember these ideas. They are very important...

I try to defrag my brain using meditation.
Unfortunately, that is a skill on which I must work to develop more.
Thanks for the "food for thought"!

Witty
I liked this post - especially the comparison of the brain to a computer. As far as defragging my brain -- impossible!

Well, same here roofpig, although not just because I'm a writer - I'm just one big fragmented mess, I think!

Witty - very good post. I do like the analogy with computers. It's true, sometimes the odd memory just floats into being. I enjoed reading this!
