Excellent idea! I have gobs of 45's from the 50's and 60's. I used to play them all the time when I was a kid. Love the REM song too.  red

Did you press the play button?  It should work if you have anything on your pc that plays mp3 files.  It certainly will if you have Windows Media Player, but it should work in Winamp and ones like that as well.

I am a little bit older than you, then.  I am still in a sixties timewarp, especially the Flower Power stuff.  I wasn't quite old enough to be a true hippy, but I did wear all the gear.  I even had a cowbell round my neck!  The Beatles ... well, I remember when they first started.  I have quite a few of their singles, going back to the start.  They're probably worth a fair bit now.  Also have several albums.  Having said that, I wouldn't say I "loved" them, they were always just 'there', part of growing-up really.  I was very sad when John Lennon was killed, he had a great sense of humour and was a very compassionate man.  Have you read any of his books?  He was a talented cartoonist as well as a songwriter.  Needless to say, I will probably be featuring "Imagine" in here at some point.  Those are some of the most sensible, if not the most sensible, song lyrics ever written.  I just wish more people would listen to them - really listen, that is.

I was born in 1960
But in my teens I developed a love for what was then called the "oldies". I love the 60's classics, and pretty much forward from there! Also, please tell me that you are a Beatles fan....please!

You should be able to identify with some of my favourites, then. All depends on how far you go back.

Thanks, David.  I love REM, I could fill an entire blog with their stuff.  Most of the music I'll be featuring will be older than this, because of course I am.

Great idea for a post. And no need to mention the song...an all time great, by a great band!
