attax, thanks for thinking me 'successful' in business. May it some
day be as true as you see it! I live hand to mouth, just this side of pushing a shopping cart down alleys, dumpster diving.
If I appear to be successful, then the facade is holding and may more people be fooled by it, mostly the banks who only laugh when I apply for small business loans.
I do give away ten percent of my income to those more needy than myself, no matter what I make each month. Mostly by paying a homeless fellow to do my garden, even when it means that I can't smoke for a week, in order to pay him. The poor, I find, are more generous in their day to day dealings with the people that they meet than my extremely wealthy friends and relatives, based upon percentages of income donated and lent and loaned and given away.

Since you're succeessful in business we'd never think of preventing you from giving away your profits to mitigate the apocryphal scenarios listed in your comment.

Capitalism, unfettered and ungoverned, or soley governed by Capitalists is the scarier scenario to me. I am watching it grow and watching American society regress into servitude, unemployment, degradation and despair, even as we write.....and the rest of the world sinks with us Capitalists as we spread our dogma, like a virus on signed free trade agreements.

For one thing, I am not a 'conservative'; I am a radical right wing extremist. Mr. Hillary Clinton is quite correct; we are a vast juggernaut conspiring to rid the earth of altruism in all of its ugly manifestations such as statism and collectivism. Capitalism is the only moral socio-political system. I cannot over-emphasise our determination to blast altruism back to pre-scientific times where it belongs. Still wish I had a snarling smiley face!

shouldn't believe the hype on conservatively controlled airways. Kerry is ahead, just not acknowledged as being ahead. I await the final judgement. Don't be surprised, I warned you, okay?
