Funny You Should Bring That Up...
On December 31, 1977, I had this dream that I was out on a date with Mark Lindsay (lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders, in case you didn't know), and I had to pee.
Somehow, we were inside this car-repair garage, and he told me just to go behind this car and let it out.
He was very nice about it and stayed where he was supposed to, but I still was unable to pee because we were on a first date, and I felt a little funny peeing so close to where my date was, even though he was keeping his distance and turning his back.
This inability to pee in a dream has often come up when I have a full-bladder, and it's a protection against bedwetting. For instance, I might go to a toilet and find it occupied or filthy--therefore, not getting the chance to pee until I was fully awake and able to hurry to the bathroom.
Anyway, when the pee urge woke me from the Mark Lindsay dream, I started to stand up to go to the bathroom and almost fell over.
Mark was staying with my folks and me at the time while going to nursing school in Anderson, and, when I hollered for someone to help me to the bathroom, he turned out to be the only one there.
He told me not to flush after I'd peed, because he wanted to examine what I'd done.
He said my urine indicated that I had a bladder infection, so we needed to call a doctor to get antibiotics. Our regular doctor wasn't in, but we managed to find one who was in on New Year's Eve, so, when my folks got back, they took me to him in order to get antibiotics.
Anyway, I obviously survived (I think)!
