The Liberals feel the ground becoming slippery under the feet

I agree that many of the major news networks seem to be slanted Democratic--and this has been true for years!

Back in 1981, one or two representatives came to Anderson in order to gather some "facts" that would make it seem as if our town were being ruined by "Reaganomics."

When I saw Anderson appear on Nightline, I hardly recognized it.

It looked like a ghost town where most of the people were either leaving or sitting around in bars talking about how hard times had gotten.

If the truth be known, any sort of unemployment at Delco-Remy (our branch of GM) had more to do with the union encouraging people to feel sorry for themselves and strike themselves right out of jobs (when the company moved various jobs to places--both abroad and right here in the USA--where people still appreciated having a job to go to and worked to show it).

But I found the stuff run on Nightline to be a very poor overall representation of Anderson, Indiana USA.

So, I wrote to Ted Koppel and gave him a different slant re: what we were about and got back a very nice letter from him.  He told me that he had based his report on what had been brought back to him by the ones sent to Anderson and had no idea that Anderson was so much more.

Our local newspaper printed his letter to me.

Sadly, Delco-Remy did close most of its factories here, and the number of people employed by them went from about 30,000 down to 3000--but our town has survived and thrived!  You should see us now!!!

Write On!
