You would want your mother-in-law to FANCY you?  Does it mean the same thing to you as it does to me?!

My mother in law is british, and for some odd reason, I don't think she fancies me!!!

Over here we make a lot of jokes about Americans not grasping sarcasm and irony (especially the latter) - I remember coming across a website recently where an American was saying that America was the Master of Sarcasm and I emailed him asking him if it was a wind-up and was he really a Brit.  He didn't answer, so I doubt he grasped the sarcasm in it.

I think it's more what you say, the younger generation.  Here, kids learn to be sarcastic while they're still in nappies, but in America it seems to be a dying art, although I've found it's also geographical.  New Englanders can be bitingly sarcastic and I have a friend from Maine who's brilliant at it.

Anyway, I'm glad you were being sarcastic and that you appreciated it as a compliment, because it was certainly meant that way.  Trouble is, I don't think those it's aimed at will see it the same way.

see my sense of humor gets it, but my mind tells me it is a hidden message and you are actually saying that you are the blogger saying that about the other blogger (me).  You should have no doubt in your mind!  Daft as they come, thee being me

there's a saying an old saying

this old Quaker was talking to his wife.

he said, "Sometimes I think everybody's daft but thee and me . . .

and sometimes I wonder about thee."

YOU.  The POST.  Maybe I am just being over-British.  I often wonder if most of mine goes over everybody's heads.  It's an art-form here, kids start while they're still in nappies.  To us it's the supreme compliment to be told we're sarcastic.  We're a weird lot, you know.

One explanation from one man.  I cannot even imagine the horridness.  Although, it may be a relief to those not wanting to think for themselves, or those satisfied with what little knowledge they have and not wanting to gain more.  Maybe some of those that like to be "controlled", told what to do and when to do it, kind of likea woman who stays with the man that beats her, afraid because she hasn't allowed herself to open up to anything new in so long that now, she's just trapped.  Slowly dying.  Yes...Good old days.  That must be why the word "old" is in that statement.  (just an opinion)

We'll be going back to the "geocentric" theory. Actually, believe it or not, people STILL think it's true. Arrggghhhh!

Next thing you know, they'll say the world is flat again.

The "good old days"

If we go back to that shit again, I myself would like to be cryogenically frozen and awakened in an era where people are much more awakened and aware spiritually. Which means, never, if certain people have it their way!
