Our parents generation were rebels...
though my parents were too busy raising kids to get too involved in the whole thing, the whole generation (with a few notable exceptions) sold out, or burned out, and Hippies became yippies... and something like that happened to GEN X as well, see Jimmy's observatory for the rest of this rant...

Wishes are fleeting things most of the time I suppose...
wants, needs, and desires though may be relatively consistant. Wat I need that I don't have is intellectual equals for friends, and passion in a relationship. The lack of passion at this point is no one's fault, a combination of hormones (or lack thereof), and medication seem to be draining it away. The lack of intellectual conversation likewise, I call and talk to my dad about politics, religion, science, and society, Diana doesn't care; it's not that she is lacking in intelligence, she's very bright even though hampered by some learning disabilities, it's just that she is not one to speculate, very nuts and bolts, not into abstract thought. Few people are, even in college these days, it's being educated out of the masses by the requirement of teaching to the set standard. A system that produces more soldiers than savants...This is turning into a post rather than a comment, so I'll end here, one thing I love about this place, there are some ideas here...particularly in your writing, and that of a few others...

A yacht and a stack of fifties as tall as the highest building on campus...
so I can sail away and visit funny redheads...really, who knows, my wishes change often. I suppose it's the two mercurial personalities implicit in being a Gemini at war over domination of my actions...In some ways I'm very serious, in others, mighty flighty...

Yeah, Whammie is a little scary...
but I wasn't talking about her, she's more friend material than on my wish list...yeah, that was Loreleiesque, laughs!

It was a trip...
going to this meeting, I felt like I knew the Good Samaritan people right away, they are like the christian outreach people in SB who I worked with, or like the people at the Mission who helped me save myself, I'll probaly end up doing something else with/for them down the road. I may not be a Christian per se, but the good ones are doing a lot of good and necessary work out there...

now I am preparing late dinner, a couple of burritos, slathered in homemade chilli and cheese, topped with sour cream and Jimmy's atomic habenero sauce and eaten with tortilla chips instead of a spoon...to be followed with a large bowl of Dryer's Fudge Tracks ice cream...yum!
