For some reason, I think you are using word association.  You have a twisted variation of a rain dance in your head+ whip=beat.  Ha.   You think in pictures, don't you?   Anyway, thanks!

I can't help but be reminded of the scene in Brave New World

Where they're on the savage reservation and their whipping the boy to get the rains to come...I have no idea why it comes to mind, but it does!
