ya
Especially considering the fact that the one statement, which made him so famous, was: "How can you ask a man to be the last man to die in Vietnam-- how can you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" One has to ask, then, 'does that mean our men and women in Iraq are dying for a mistake... and that you would be asking someone to be the last man to die for that mistake?' Jim Lehrer did, to a degree, but John Kerry dodged the question.

Up with the SpaceShipOne of Burt Rutan; down with the Cocainer-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Beautifully written. I feel that way about space travel as well.

The lure of flight...
was strong in my youth.  I joined the Air Force thinking I might get to fly.  Of course only officers get turned loose with those milti-million dollar toys, so I was stuck on the ground with a paint brush!  You are luck to be able to go see history.  The future of space flight is at hand.  Cape Kennedy is probably already obsolete.
