no taking away or adding to here.
just delving into the original intent of the speaker -- finding that KJV gives 16th century meanings to 1st century ideas.
as I told 7thtrump, Greek lexicons give an entirely different meaning.

the phrase I use for meek comes from the synonym section of George Ricker Berry's Greek Interlinear New Testament.

no adding to or taking away -- just utilizing the original meaning instead of the medieval conception.

that's true -- he was teacing his disciples what they needed as responsible representatives of his in behavior.

about pure in heart --

"heart means feelings

Pure means genuine

KJV renders it pur and heart

lexicons of the original Greek render a differtne meaning altogether.

you have interpreted this in your own way from your own perspective.
my problem with the KJV is that it follows the old patterns -- and what has been a major fault of Christianity since -- it gives the impression the the believer has only one relationship -- with god.

However, all the rest of the scriptures emphasize relationsihpo with people around you.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see god.

advantaged are those whose feeling towards others are genuine, for they see the deity in those whom they meet.

which has more impact?

I believ the latter. this gives us a teaching of substance.

no other translation needed
I read westwends post "My Translations". Too bad, I guess he forgot something vital.
Revelation 22:18-19 "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book."

I may have to do a blog on this one
I doubt you will let this one remain, but here goes. The Sermon on the Mount of Matthew 5 was given by Yeshua to His disciples in private. This was not a public meeting, he went up into a mountain to get away from the crowd. He was talking to His Elect (He chose them, they didn't have an alter call). Matthew 5:3-The poor in spirit are those who allow themselves to be molded by the Potter...Our Father. 4-They mourn seeing what has been done to Father's children over time. 5-The meek are those who humble themselves before Almighty GOD. 6-The "filling" here is the fullness of the knowledge of Father's Word. 7-The merciful (compassionate) shall receive the same. 8-The "pure in heart" ("mind" in the Greek) are those who have not allowed themselves to be blown about by winds of false doctrine of strange gods. This word "see" is better translated "know". Hebraism, to experience. 9-The peacemakers of Yeshua are His elect who teach Father's Truth, and keep confusion (Babylon) at bay. True peace will only come with Yeshua's appearance. 10-Persecuted for teaching the Truth of Father's Word. 11-All you have to do is read most of the blogs in here to see that The Truth, as taught by only a meager few, is assaulted on a regular basis. 12-But, I don't worry about these things...my reward is coming. "Study to show thyself approved...".
