Predestination
There are those among us who are predestined to teach GOD's Word (Christ Himself, John the Baptist to name a couple more well known). However, no-one is predestined to hell. "Study to show thyself approved...".

Revelation
If you will study Revelation and Ezekiel (not just here and there at random, but fully study), you will find that answer. Our Father is fair and just in ALL of His judgements. And, NO...those people are not "going to hell". ALL will have an opportunity... "Study to show thyself approved...". But, if they "choose" to, they will perish the same as those today will who refuse to seek GOD.

actually -- I claim nothing of the sort

there is a concept called Predestination

this is not my idea.
some christians believe we are predestined to be saved or not.

I agree about the matter of choice.

but Christian doctrine -- what you are saying -- excludes billions of people who either are of another religion or lived before Jesus and never heard of Jesus or God as you know him.  They have never had a chance to choose.  Christians need to give an answer to this question -- does a loving God condemn them to Hell because they never had a chance to choose?

I believe in Universal Salvation.

I believe that this is Christ, separate from the man, Yeshua (whom you call Jesus).  A person is automatically saved.  True Salvation occurs when the person realizes this.

first of all
WE DO have a choice in the matter-as you claim we don't. God gave each of us free will. The freedom to chose--He even went so far as to say "Chose you this day whom you will serve".
Westwind; I think I have clearly answered your guestion in many of my other blogs go read them--BETTER YET--DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT-TAKE GODS' AND READ HIS WORDS FOR YOURSELF.

It's plain and simple--the simplistic always confounds those who consider themselves wise--if you do not accept Jesus Christ as the way the truth and the life, and you don't chose to accept Him as personal savior-then you CAN not get to heaven. Which means you will go to hell. But I can't see your heart or anyone elses--so I can not say 'this one goes to hell, this one goes to heaven-GOD AND GOD ONLY makes that choice because GOD and GOD only see's your heart!

I know I'm going to Hell
I've been told that enough times.
I am still going to live a clean and moral life though.
Since I am already damned, it matters little what I do, but I see no point in going all evil and such.
I like my life and the way I live life.
I don't see the point in commit crimes or immoral acts.
And it has nothing at all to do with my feelings of what may happen to me after I die.

sorry
them's the facts according to some
We ain't Catholic -- so we're left out there. STEERIKE ONE!!!
I have never been asked in the Episcopal Chuirch to accept Jesus Christ as my savior, so that leaves me out there. STEERIKE TWO!!!
It's when I'm defined as a Christian. So at least it's not three strikes.

At least I covered my tracks before I became an Episcopalian.

Westwend -
Yup - This Heaven and Hell thing makes no sense as defined by mainline Christians. Maybe you should have a contest to come up with a new definition for Heaven and Hell. Whoever wins goes to Heaven, all others go to Hell.
