this is why i keep away from blogit...for now
am up to here in work and stuff and to do any justice at blog it requires time-space which is really hard to find these days...2005 is my year when i plan to sink into intel discussions...ok have to run for a b'day party so will try to wrap up my end of this quickly :-)

"If by "existentially" you mean our human existence minus faith, divine revelation, God, then that too is a mental construct. No one has proven that Ockham's razor -- what was used to create your "existential" construct -- IS NOT a method of rational convenience. "

what i mean by "existentially" is the sum total of everything that comprises existence...which very much includes god, faith, divine revelation etc...the word 'existence' is a mental construct...but existence exists even without the word which we use to define it...lol..ok i almost wound up eatin my own tail...within this existential framework exists all the pieces as identified in the bible...like a mosaic...its up to us individually to find out what are the pieces and how they interconnect...which is to say that god exists whether u allow yourself the awareness of him or not...just as heaven and hell do too...

"Sun_Fever says that one can be a person of character without those ideas of Heaven-Hell-God which is also true."

well i dont know if what i said conveyed that...but if u look at it objectively - yes it is possible to be a person of character (arete...character is a anaemic translation...more closer would be excellence) without the ideas of heaven or hell or god...at least theoretically...but...thats because god's construction of man makes him arete seeking anyways...(am in a rush so am trying to abbreviate it)

"Heaven-Hell-God are realities in a world which has become the stage where God seeks man, not in order to destroy him, but to make him a part of His life. Sun_Fever may choose to close his eyes on that, and I respect that. He may change the names, make "God" "Arete" or whatever, but that is his choice. That does not make him bad or good. But what he does with that mindset may make him develop into a better (or worse) or person.

again...would suggest u trawl thro my blogs if u have the time...i do not close my eyes to the realities of heaven n hell...and no am not doin any substituition of god and calling it arete...god is god...arete is something he created...and placed it before us to choose...if we will...

:-) hope u still bloggin away in 2005...can revist this and hash it to kingdom come... :-)
