Ain't that the truth...
I've got to admit, I like Law and Order though...but not the rest of that crap, and the professor is probably right...but there are a lot of freaks out there, she didn't mention the fact that 1 in 4 females and 1 in 5 or 6 males are abused as children, nor the fact that close to fifty percent of women will be raped during their lifetimes, nor the fact that America today supports aproximately 200 serial murderers who have yet to be caught, and at least 10% of the population is addicted to alcohol or drugs...
The problem with this is that the more restrictive the criminal justice system gets, the more crimes are commited. In states with third strike laws, the murder rate actually climbs, because offenders looking at their third strike have more to lose by being identified than they do for a murder...
So the crypto-fascists crack down more, with stiffer mandatory minimum sentences, and things get worse...ad nauseaum...
