I Vote...

...we do something about it.

As for what....well, I did say the answers are coming.

I have five lined up for the end of this current series of articles, and I aim to find more when I spend three weeks with Vandana Shiva at Schumacher College in July doing 'Alternatives to Globalisation'.

So patience, oh feverish one!

And in the meantime, I'm wondering what answers will come out of the BN mellee....

my question again...

whats the plan then?  are we going to sit and quiver and fear while economic control concentrated in the hands of a few will eventually dictate freedom of choice?  or are we going to do something about it?  and, what can be done?

It Is...

...and I shop as much as I can at small family-run stores, and very rarely go into supermarkets. I'm prepared to pay more because I genuinely fear the day, which could come, when there are ONLY supermarkets to shop at.

And where do you think those loss-leaders will be then? A distant memory.

Damon is this called the monopoly game? thanks for the article.
When you control the market than you control the price,A classic example is loss-leaders at the grocery store. Stores have pop sales -12 pack pepsi or coke for 1.99. This brings people in store whom spend an average of 80.00 on other products not on sale. Pepsi and coke sale wholesale to the small mom and pop stores for 3.45 a 12 pack. Mom and Pop can only mark it up 3.99. Thats why Mom and Pop can not compete.
