for Azazel
I'm sure there is more information out there.
What I know comes from the Biblical passage -- lots are casts on two goats -- both are alike except that the lots choose one to be Azazel and one to be the "goat of the congregation".
The goat of the congregation, as I said, is sacrificed for the sins of the congregation.
The sins of the congregation are also placed on Azazel and Azazel is cast out of the congregation into the wilderness.
That's all.
I link this to human behavior, as I said.

Westwend -
There definitely is something after this life - what it is I haven't a clue. I'm going to search your posts as well because I'd like to learn more about Azazel.

Friar T -

If I have been reincarnated, I am certainly not famous, and am not aware of any "famous" past lives. But I may not be reincarnated. My info could have come from the luminous epinoia. Who knows. As far as what your parents were doing behind closed doors and you asking about it, I think that is a bit different than telling my Sunday school teacher that she is wrong about God and I am certain of it.

With regard to a limited number of souls that you refer to, that's a bit off too. The number of people in the world continues to grow. More are born than die, so there must be additional souls "created" by "God" to keep up with everything. That's if reincarnation is true.

Fiar hasn't read much of yours or mine
But he is immersed in the Heaven, Hell, Limbo, etc. paradigm.
That paradigm condemns many people to eternal damnation.
but that's human to do so -- religion reflects the human biases -- you look around and there are persons with whom you don't get along -- you don't really forgive them -- you are two-faced, backbiting, and condemning.
but to condemn the other places you higher. You are saved by casting the other into "outer darkness".
I mentioned something like that in an earlier post in my blog -- talking about Azazel (scapegoat) in the Yom Kippur celebration, or Day of Atonement.

Friar misunderstands I think, thinking reincarnation applies only to a few. All he has to do is read my comment to your previous post.

I am going to try right now and find my comment on Azazel and repost it.

You were precocious...

as a kid.  Reincarnation is absurd:  why is it that only famous souls get reincarnated?  Besides, I can't imagine a God who only remakes the few souls that He can come up with.

I was precocious too as a kid.  At four years old, I was already asking my Dad whether he was f***king my Mom.  Does that make me a reincarnated spirit?
