You're probably correct, Friar.
As I've been taught that a literal interpretation of the Bible is necessary as a "map" if you will, to life. Although, personally, I find this literal interpretation a rather inhuman approach at times, as it does seem to rule out approaches to rather unique situations which of course, crop up in everyone's life.

I would say...
Catholicism is most humanistic because of its adherence to the Scriptures.  You see, you may have been conditioned to think that "adherence to the Bible" means taking it literally and as the only source of revelation and basis of faith, though it is not the case.

Perhaps there are religions that exhibit more of a humanistic approach?
The Catholic Church for one seems more based on Humanism than some other religions, which can be more scripturally based. Just my own observations and not necessarily correct.
