You know, I've felt that way too. If one believes that there is a connection at some level between every "thing" on earth, then maybe "spirit" is as good a name as any.

actually . . .
there are times when I feel there are spirits in trees and boulders and such --
if we still held to these beliefs, we wouldn't have the environment crises we do now.
a god that is everything gives us to feel that everything is god.
