It was more like Indonesia...
our islands were part of the Madjapahit Empire in pre-Spanish times. Some of our islands were already actively transacting businesses with other Asian countries such as China then.

Frair, while in Mexico I laughed out loud when I saw a sign for sale on
Guadalupe's Chapel steps in Puerto Vallarta. I bought it and put it on the front door of my house.....it says,
"ESTE HOGAR ES CATOLICO
No aceptamos propaganda Protestante ni de otras sectas.
! Viva Cristo Rey !
! Viva La Virgen de Guadalupe, Madre de Dios !"
I put it up so that people would think that I don't speak English and then go away, and then I put it up for the Spanish speaking evangelicals who stop by sometimes.
Mexicans are growing very tired of 'foreign religions', but they mean Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. Brazil banned them for awhile there and still doesn't like them. Funny how political religious matters are becoming. What was once politically correct is now not so.....confusing to simple people with simple needs and numerous questions about the many inequities in life.
I suppose that Mexico will then go back to Aztec pyramidal sacrifices and the Islas Filipinas will return to what, as I am ignorant of your history ? I know that I have received emails from lost relatives there with my same last name, so the Spanish arrived along with the Portuguese at some point, I do know that. But before that? Was it more like Bali or Indonesia or Hawaii? I do not know.
